Price & Teeple pianos are listed with 6-digit serial numbers. Yours is five. However, P&T manufactured instruments under other nameplates. Schaeffer was one of them, and those do have 5-digit serials. That number dates it to early 1924.

Upright pianos were once a commonplace item in the burgeoning American middle-class home. They were the centers of family entertainment before radio and television. Thusly, a good number survive, but the piano is now just an instrument for the ever-smaller numbers of students. Most old pianos don’t have much value in the resale market because of the cost of maintenance, and the cost of moving such a heavy, backbreaking item.
